NBA Trades Roundup: Recapping all the transactions from draft night


On NBA Draft night, future stars achieve their dreams and officially enter the league, first and foremost, but there’s often some underlying intrigue that steals the show: trades.

There can be so many, in fact, that it’s hard to keep up. So here’s a list of all the deals that (both reportedly and officially) went down on Thursday night:

Knicks Trade No. 11

The New York Knicks reportedly traded No. 11 overall pick Ousmane Dieng to the Oklahoma City Thunder, and received protected Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards and Denver Nuggets first-round picks in 2023 from the Thunder in return.

Kemba leaves New York in three-team deal

To put it in the simplest of terms:

• New York receives: A 2025 Milwaukee Bucks first-round pick
• Charlotte Hornets receive: A conditional first and four future second-rounders
• Detroit Pistons receive: No. 13 pick Jalen Duren, Kemba Walker

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Pistons and Walker will negotiate a buy-out.

Grizzlies acquire No. 19

The Minnesota Timberwolves are reportedly trading No. 19 overall pick Jake LaRavia and a future second-round pick to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for pick No. 22 (Walker Kessler) and pick No. 29 (TyTy Washington Jr). The Grizzlies then reportedly flipped Washington in a package with two second-rounders for the Houston Rockets’ No. 26 overall pick: Duke forward Wendell Moore Jr.

Danny Green on the move

The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly acquiring Grizzlies guard De’Anthony Melton for guard Danny Green and the 23rd overall pick (David Roddy).

• Kings trade No. 37 pick Jaden Hardy to Mavericks for two second-round picks

• Spurs trade No. 38 pick Kennedy Chandler to Grizzlies for a future second, cash

• Wolves trade No. 40 pick Bryce McGowns to Hornets for two second-round picks

• Hawks trade No. 44 pick Ryan Rollins to Warriors for No. 51 pick Tyrese Martin and cash

• Blazers trade No. 46 pick Ismael Kamagate to Nuggets for TBD

• Wolves trade No. 48 pick Kendall Brown to Pacers for TBD
