Legal professional Normal Merrick Garland stated on Saturday night time that the Division of Justice is investigating the Buffalo mass taking pictures as a “hate crime and an act of racially-motivated violent extremism.”

Garland stated that the Justice Division is investigating the matter as a hate crime.

“The Justice Division is investigating this matter as a hate crime and an act of racially-motivated violent extremism. The Justice Division is dedicated to conducting an intensive and expeditious investigation into this taking pictures and to looking for justice for these harmless victims,” Garland stated in a press release.

“Tonight, the nation mourns the victims of a mindless, horrific taking pictures in Buffalo, New York. The FBI and ATF are working carefully with the Buffalo Police Division and federal, state, and native legislation enforcement companions,” he added.

Based on officers, the shooter traveled from “hours” exterior of Buffalo. The taking pictures occurred at Tops Pleasant Markets on Jefferson Avenue in Buffalo.
