Blue Jays injury updates: Latest on Springer, Pearson and Garcia

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer is feeling better after experiencing elbow discomfort during Tuesday’s game against the Chicago White Sox.

The team’s plan is for the 32-year-old to test out his swing before Friday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers to determine if he could be available off the bench as a pinch hitter.

Springer missed the team’s series finale against the White Sox due to the discomfort.

The three time all-star is currently hitting .260 with 13 home runs and 34 RBI in the 2022 season.

Pitcher Nate Pearson suffered a right lat strain in his outing with triple-A Buffalo Bisons on Sunday. A recovery timetable is still being determined.

The Blue Jays also placed relief pitcher Yimi Garcia on the 15-day injured list with a left back strain while recalling right-hander Jeremy Beasley from the Bisons.
